Spring & Summer
Grow-a-row
Large or small, every donation from a garden makes an incredible impact. It is critical to eat well when you are in crisis so when we can give fresh garden vegetables it tells someone they matter. It’s fresh from the heart!
May & June
Bare Bottoms Diaper Drive
Generous Calgarians and businesses come together each May to collect diapers, baby food and formula. We rely on donations of diapers and designated funds for the more than 10,000 families.
March – october
Calgary corporate challenge
Participate in fun, engaging team-building events while supporting the Calgary Food Bank. The challenge component gives teams a series of opportunities to give and engage in meaningful ways and also earn points.
July
Put the boots to hunger
Our annual Stampede food and fundraiser, Put the Boots to Hunger, brings together the community during the 10 days of Stampede to help stomp out hunger during the summer months.
September
City-Wide Food Drive
Every year, we collaborate with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to collect several hundred thousand of pounds of food, donated by generous community members like you.
November
Stuff a bus
Volunteers from the City of Calgary Transit, Annie Banister Girl Guides, and the Calgary Food Bank collect donations from Calgary Co-op location and fill up buses with much needed food items.
November-December
Mayor’s Food Drive
Businesses, students and communities come together with Mayor Jyoti Gondek to support the Calgary Food Bank. The Mayors Food Drive collects important food and funds for families and individuals in need during the holidays and into the New Year.
December
CBC Make The Season Kind
CBC Calgary partners with the Calgary Food Bank to fill every plate in Calgary during the holiday season. Donate food and funds throughout the month of December at one of the many events supporting the CBC Food Bank Drive.
MARCH
Canstruction®
CANstruction brings together teams of engineers, architects and builders to create impressive structures out of nonperishable food items. After they are displayed to the public and judged, they are deconstructed, and the food makes its way into our client’s hampers.
