Charity Challenge

Calgary Corporate Challenge provides fun, engaging team-building events throughout the year, highlighted by the annual Calgary Corporate Challenge September Games. This event encompasses a series of giving opportunities and engagement opportunities, as presented by Calgary Corporate Challenge’s charity partners. Since 2005, more than $305,000 in food and funds has been raised by Calgary Corporate Challenge participants for the Food Bank.

Calgary Corporate Challenge Charity Challenge - Give Goods - WAM  Hamper Items

The Weekends and More Program was created in partnership with the Calgary Board of Education to provide students who rely on weekday school food programs nutritious food on the weekends. The average retail cost of a single hamper is $30.

This checklist is inclusive and calculated to fill five hampers.
DONATE ITEMS TO BUILD FIVE WEEKENDS AND MORE HAMPERS

10 bottles Milk 2 Go (shelf-stable and single serve)
10 boxes Annie’s Macaroni and Cheese
5 cans chicken noodle soup (ready to serve / Sodium = %15 or Less / not condensed)
10 packets Seeds of Change Rice with Beans (Sodium = %15 or Less)
30 packets Quaker Instant Oatmeal (single serve and any flavour)
10 packets tuna and crackers kit (single serve)
10 packets dried fruit or veggie chips (snack sized / Sugar = < 8g)
10 cups/pouches unsweetened apple sauce (any flavour)

Weekends and More Hamper items will be accepted at the Charity Challenge Donation Drive-thru Drop Off Event on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 10 am – 2 pm.   

Calgary Corporate Challenge Charity Challenge - Give More - Baby Hamper Items

Baby hampers are provided as part of the Emergency Food Hamper Program. They are available for children up to 12 months old, and include diapers, formula and/or baby food to ensure.The average retail cost of a single hamper is $105.

This checklist is inclusive and calculated to fill five hampers.

100+ Size 6 disposable diapers
100+ Size 5 disposable diapers
5 packages of wipes (100 per pack)
10 cans Stage 1 baby formula (850-900g) Preferred Formula Brands:   Enfamil A+®, NESTLÉ® Good START®, or Parent’s Choice
80 pouches Stage 3 baby food with meat and vegetable (100-150mL)
20 pouches Stage 3 baby food with fruit (100-150mL)
10 bags Stage 3 baby cereal (200-250g)

Baby Hamper items will be accepted at the Charity Challenge Donation Drive-thru Drop Off Event on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 10 am – 2 pm.

Please check-in and indicate your Company Name, Division Color, and the number of Weekend and More and baby hampers that your team has built. Monetary donations can be accepted at this time by either Cash or Cheque.

Safety Procedures

  • When you check-in you will be instructed to park your vehicle.
  • Please wear a face mask and stay socially distanced. Gloves are recommended. Food Bank staff and volunteers are required to wear face masks and gloves.
  • A Food Bank staff member will bring a cart to your vehicle. Please unloaded your donations from your vehicle into the cart.
  • Once the donations are unloaded a Food Bank staff member will take the cart and sort the donations into the appropriate boxes.
  • Carts will be sanitized between each use.

school students in Calgary.

About the program

Together with the Calgary Board of Education we recognize that students who rely on food programs during the week, may need nutritious food on the weekends. Students in the Weekends and More Program are identified by their teacher, counsellor or resource worker. They receive nutritious hampers containing two days’ worth of kid-friendly food that discreetly fit into a backpack. You can help the Weekends and More Program and ensure hunger is not a barrier to learning.
