Nadiia and her husband never saw themselves leaving their life in Ukraine behind to move to another country, but 2 and a half years ago that’s exactly what happened.
“We got lots of vegetables that I was able to pick; we made a huge pot of soup. There’s apples and oranges which we love. I’m struggling with my physical health and can’t work enough to pay rent and bills, so food is the last thing I try and buy when possible. But it has been very hard since the rent was increased. I’m so grateful for the Calgary Food Bank”
