Calgary Food Bank Programs & Services

We can create a hunger-free community when we work together! The Calgary Food Bank offers a variety of programs and services to community partners that are working on root causes of food insecurity.

Emergency Food Hampers

The Emergency Food Hamper Program is at the core of the Calgary Food Bank’s mission. Available to families and individuals who are experiencing food insecurity due to emergency situations.

The Weekends and More program is for students to receive nutritious food hampers containing two to three days’ worth of food that discreetly fits into a backpack.

Food Link Program

The Food Link program provides food and supplies to qualified organizations so they can focus their resources on important program delivery dealing with root causes of food insecurity​. 

Mobile Hamper Cover Image

The Mobile Hamper program provides food to communities that work with those experiencing homelessness in Calgary. Hampers provide short-term relief of hunger with easy to open, ready to eat, shelf stable food for a few days.

Welcome home program

The Welcome Home Program provides hampers containing pantry staples, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items to individuals and families transitioning into housing.

Food Share

The Food Share program rescues food and redirects it to support local communities. The Calgary Food Bank is considered a critical food distribution hub and works to ensure food is delivered where it is needed most.

The Purchasing Power Program provides organizations an opportunity to buy bulk food at discounted prices.

Welcome Home Cover Image

Food Grants

Food Grants are available for one-time events or for short-term use.
