Put the Boots to Hunger
During Stampede 2009, this logo will be displayed by organizations collecting donations for the Calgary Food Bank at their Stampede events.

The Put The Boots to Hunger campaign is a partnership between Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP (BD&P) and the Calgary Food Bank.

BD&P has committed $150,000 to launch and promote the initiative during the 2009 Calgary Stampede. This year's goal is to raise $500,000 in food and funds to help the food bank feed people through the summer months.

Put the Boots to Hunger is an umbrella initiative which Calgarians and Calgary businesses are challenged to stand under in support of the Calgary Food Bank.

The Food Bank is experiencing its largest need for emergency food hampers in nearly 10 years, serving 40% more people since September 2008 than one year ago. The majority of people relying on the Food Bank for emergency food hampers continue to be the working poor.

This campaign is timely as food and fund donations are traditionally lower as we head into summer.

Call the Calgary Food Bank (403.253.2059) to find out how your Stampede event can help Put the Boots to Hunger in Calgary.

And finally... help cheer on David Bensmiller, driver of the Put the Boots to Hunger chuckwagon in the 2009 GMC Rangeland Derby.
