Fill your boots to feed YYC
Like every other Calgarian, we were disappointed to hear about the cancellation of the 2020 Calgary Stampede, but our friends at XL103 stepped up with a new way to recognize the Stampede season in style. Calgary joined Heather and Buzz – from a safe social distance, of course – to celebrate the Stampede spirit and Fill Your Boots for the Calgary Food Bank. From July 3 – 12, Calgarians shopping at their local Calgary Co-op purchased a wish list item or made a donation through the till. And many others made donations online! With the cancellation of their Put the Boots to Hunger campaign and after hearing about Fill Your Boots, Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer (BD&P) announced on air that they were going to match all donations made during the campaign up to $50,000!
Over the 10 days of Heather and Buzz’s Fill Your Boots campaign $193, 930 was raised to help feed YYC. Thank you Calgary! Yee-haw!!

Stampede From Home
Book a Stampede themed porch shoot
Put on your boots, blast your favorite western playlist, grab a summer beverage, and set the scene on your porch for a professional photo shoot inspired by the Stampede. Family Porchraits has teamed up with Calgary Co-op to capture summer moments that you’ll remember forever. As part of the free stampede from home program, Family Porchraits and Calgary Co-op are encouraging community members to donate what they can to the Fill Your Boots food drive.
“Calgary Co-op is proud to support local photographers in capturing special moments of families and friends celebrating the 2020 Stampede from home. Part of that spirit includes supporting our neighbours. We are asking participants to have fun and consider giving to the Calgary Food Bank.”
– Sage Pullen McIntosh, Calgary Co-op
