Consider giving your time and volunteer!
Our volunteers are the heart of the Calgary Food Bank. We could not do what we do without the 100+ caring Calgarians that come in to the warehouse every day. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization.
Who can volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer. Whether as an individual, as a family or as a group (youth clubs, corporate teams, sports clubs, retirement clubs, church groups). All welcome!
Please note that there are some restrictions for children. They must be at least 12 years old to volunteer in the warehouse and require accompanying adult supervision up to age 15. Minimum age for volunteering at special events outside of the warehouse is 8 years old with an adult.
IMPORTANT: All persons who volunteer at the Food Bank must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
What could I be doing?
Volunteers perform a variety of tasks:
What are special events?
Special events are a fun way to volunteer for the Calgary Food Bank outside of the main warehouse, and possibly in your own community! The positions are flexible enough to fit in with the rest of the activities in your life and allow for younger family members and groups to participate.
Opportunities range from collecting food and funds at the CP Holiday Train, flipping flapjacks at one of the many pancake breakfasts at Stampede, and many more. Learn about more Volunteer Opportunities.
When can I volunteer?
We have a number of options to fit into any schedule. Whether volunteers can manage a few hours one day per month, or would like a regularly scheduled weekly shift. We even have volunteer opportunities on the weekends at our special events! Contact us to learn how to fit the Calgary Food Bank into your schedule.
IMPORTANT: All persons who volunteer at the Food Bank must be legally able to work in Canada.
