Canstruction® Calgary is a competition using canned food and other non-perishable items as building blocks. Teams create structures, which are judged, exhibited to the public and then de-canstructed, with all food going to the Calgary Food Bank. In its first seven years, Canstruction® Calgary has donated over $680,000 in food and funds.
Canstruction® Calgary is the local chapter of Canstruction, a global anti-hunger project, founded by the Society for Design Administration, an affiliate organization of the American Insitute of Architects. Founded more than 10 years ago, the event is now held in more than 50 cities across North America.
