Expiration and Best Before Dates
Best Before
The amount of time a product will retain its freshness, colour, nutritional value and flavour. Once the seal is broken, the best before date is no longer valid. The Food Bank accepts food donations beyond the Best Before date but not if the seal is broken.
Expiry
After this date has passed, the manufacturer cannot guarantee the unopened product. The Food Bank does not accept expired goods.
Packaged On
The date the product was placed in its package. There is often an accompanying Best Before date. Mostly found on bakery products.
