We are always down for some good, fresh produce for our clients and we take whatever we can get. There is a shortage of fresh produce donations and sometimes, we get items that not everyone knows what to do with.
Specifically, we recall the last time we got dragon fruit and some of our clients had no idea what it was, let alone how to eat it! This isn't just our clients, either! Dragon fruit isn't a big thing in Canada.
We had such a fantastic time during 10 days of Stampede 2015! There was no shortage of amazing breakfasts, BBQs, fundraisers and events! Though attendance was slightly down at the Stampede this year, we had no shortage of generous Calgarians (and visitors to our fair city) who gave to Put the Boots to Hunger!
It just goes to show that no matter what the economy or misfortune we find ourselves in, people are always willing to give a helping hand and pull each other up by their bootstraps.
We’re ramping up to the last weekend of Stampede and Put the Boots to Hunger, and we can’t believe all the events we’ve been to so far! In seven days, we've been to lunches, BBQs, breakfasts, rodeos and chuckwagons galore. Stampede 2015 is turning into one our busiest yet!
