Thank you Community Gardens

Thank you so much to the Garden of Eat’n and the TransAlta POWER Garden for donating over 53,000lbs of fresh produce donated. And thank you to the 231 volunteers that made it possible!

My partner and I just bought a new home which has a large yard with room for a sizeable garden. I will have the capacity to grow more food than the two of us will likely eat. I’m wondering if community members are able to donate excess produce from our home gardens to the food bank? Where and how would we do this? Also, if I were to do some canning, pickling and/or jam making, could I donate some of those items?

Thanks for reaching out! YES! We love getting fresh produce from community gardens!
Unfortunately due to health regulations we can not take home processed foods such as jams or pickled cans.
Produce can be dropped off at our warehouse (Door 3) or please call us and we can arrange something. 403.253.2059

      Thank you again.
