We had the pleasure of attending one of the most unique events of the Stampede Season, Arcurves 8th Annual Stampede party. The theme? Pirates, Princesses and Cowboys.
The event included a whole roasted pig, pulled pork tacos and a plethora of elixr (their potent signature cocktail), as well as rocket launching contents, sword fights and egg tosses.
Arcurve employees also had an opportunity to vote for their favourite character (princess, pirate or cowboy) with their Calgary Food Bank donation! Employees and their families overwhelmingly, but not surprisingly, voted in favour of cowboys —nearly three to one, to be exact.
Gary Gorst, our Put the Boots to Hunger chuckwagon driver, gave another one of his signature tours to tonight’s sponsor: PennWest!
After enjoying a short rib dinner with all the trimmings, PennWest headed over to the barns to meet Gary and his beautiful steeds.
The race track tonight was dry as a bone, which Gary said would definitely up his odds of finishing with a winning time. Though he physically came in third in his heat, he came in first in overall time because of penalties to the first two racers.
