Every year, local artist Rosemary Bennett hosts an amazing outdoor display of local artists. Donation boxes will be located at the event for non-perishable food and cash donations. Come and enjoy stunning hand painted art and enter to win fantastic door prizes!

Since 1997, Kids in Motion and YMCA Day Camps will be collecting non-perishable food donations in support of the Calgary Food Bank. Be sure to watch for your food bank bag and reminder flyers a few days before the food drive begins. Let’s work as a community and try and beat last year’s total of over 7,000 pounds of food!

Purolator Tackle Hunger

Purolator Tackle HungerPurolator Tackle Hunger has helped deliver over 8 million pounds of food to food banks across Canada since its inception in 2003. Every year during the first week of June, Purolator employees, partners, agents and customers join Canadians coast to coast at Canadian Football League (CFL) games to raise awareness about hunger. Join us on Saturday the 15 as our Calgary Stampeders take on the Ottawa Redblacks. Food collection boxes will be set up at the each stadium gate, along with Purolator volunteers. In return for fans generosity, they will have the opportunity to take their photo with the Grey Cup.

Is there anything better than some hot, sweet, stuck in your teeth, butter dripping down your arm, Alberta corn on the cob? Alberta’s Irrigation Farmers are coming together to share the sweetest corn on earth with you! Come on down to the Calgary Farmers’ Market on Saturday Aug. 22 for some of the best Alberta corn on the cob. There will be loads of butter and flavorings to dress up this delicious snack and make it your own. Food and cash donations for the Calgary Food Bank are welcome.

Join the fun at the first annual YYC WingFest happening in downtown Calgary. You have the opportunity to vote on local vendors and help Crown the King Wing while enjoying live music, beer gardens, chicken wings and eating competitions! It’s free to attend and sampling tickets are $1 each that can be purchased on location the day of. A portion of the proceeds go to the Calgary Food Bank, so have your ranch and hot sauce ready!
